Amsterdam>Basel River cruise with add on 2022

Hi friends, considering a 7 night Viking,AMA or Uniworld ruver cruise ,Amsterdam to Basel Sept/early Oct 2022 with add on,and as always the input here from fellow members is always invaluable .
My wife and I are looking to accomplish 2 bucket list items here European River cruise and a return to the scenic Swiss Alps. Some suggestions needed on Crusie line recommendations and more interested in an Basel ending add on to experience some 2-3? nights in the Swiss Alps enjoying her beauty but also open to a Amsterdam beginning add on to settle the jet lag pre cruise. Thank you in advance!

Until oct 23rd 2022 everything will be open in the German speaking part of the Swiss Alps (school holidays): hotels, huts, mountain railways and gondolas. Areas in the Canton of Valais (Zermatt, Saas Fee, Riederalp, Crans-Montana) are usually sunnier and warmer than other alpine areas. A train ride from Basel to theses places lasts a bit more than 3 hrs (trains every 30 - 60 minutes).
