Amsterdam B&B or Hotels

We will be stopping over in Amsterdam for a couple of days on our way to Africa. I know nothing of where to stay or what to see (except perhaps Anne Frank House). Please provide suggestions on hotel or B&B accommodations in a central location. I would think our budget would be in the range of ~150 euro/night for 2. Thanks

Google the Hotel Brouwer. Historic small hotel. It is very popular, though and we had to reserve quite far in advance. Good breakfasts. All rooms with canal view.

Hotel Fita around 150. Right near Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum. Near tram stop.
Very good breakfast. Neat, non-smoking small hotel.

You could also search for hotels with locations shown on a map and with user reviews at www.channels.nl

Thanks guys. The Banks Mansion is a little out of my budget, but I really like Hotel Brouwer and Hotel Fita. Brouwer reminds me of the place we stayed in Rothenburg several years ago.

Hi jill_h - I second the recommendation for the Hotel Fita, we stayed there a few years ago and really liked the location, hotel, and had great breakfasts. They have a website: www.hotelfita.com. Have a great trip.

Stu, The Seven Bridges had a "blurb" in this month's National Geographic Traveler magazine. I checked it out and it looks REALLY nice. Thanks!
