amsterdam and...?? for honeymoon

Hello -

I have posted on here before, looking for ideas for a honeymoon. My husband and I have decided to head to Europe this July. We plan on flying into Amsterdam on July 10th and staying with a friend for about 6 or 7 days...then we don't know where we want to go. We love Amsterdam for its canals, photo opportunities, history, museums, relaxed atmosphere. We want to go to one more country and have thought about Switzerland, Germany, France, etc...we have been to Belgium before so we don't want to go back there. We will stay for 4 or 5 nights wherever - we can take the eurorail or fly to get there, whichever is cheaper - and then fly home to Boston, Massachusetts from there. Budget is about $150 a night (looking for hotel)...does anyone have any suggestions, pros/cons of places? We like romantic places too

THanks!!

What about Prague! We're connecting Amsterdam with Prague in April/May, using SkyEurope to fly between the two.

We have heard Prague is gorgeous...any recommendations there! I went to Prague when I was 15 and I know it's very different now...

As much as I love Paris, it'll so very crowded in July. I'm not to fond of it then. There are lots of hotel recommendations on this site for Prague. You'll need to sort through them!

Hi K,

All of Europe will be crowded in July.

I suggest flying into AMS and out of CDG. You can take the train.
See www.voyages-sncf.com.

OR

Flying into AMS and out of Venice. See www.transavia.com

Enjoy your visit.

We are just researching other European places to visit and are down to Iceland, Switzerland, Germany & France. What are your preferences?

Last year we started out in Amsterdam and then went down to Switzerland - took an overnight train (to Basel, I think) and then on to Montreux - we really liked that area. Lovely lake, vineyards, can go up to the mountains and lovely Swiss meadows. Then you could fly home out of Geneva. Should be very plesant there in July too. We stayed at the Hotel Masson which we found to be delightful. Have a great trip wherever you go!

I like the area outside Geneva along Lac Leman (Lausanne, Vevey, Montreux). It's lovely there and July would be perfect weather-wise.
