Amsterdam airport to Centraal station

When i asked at Amsterdam Centraal where the lockers only take credit or chip cards - not coins or cash the staff said that they understood American credit cards would not work in the lockers
so it may be that there is no way for Americans to leave luggage in Amsterdam C.S. as there is no manual left luggage.
and some night trains actually originate in Hoofdorp south of the airport and stop there en route to Amsterdam C.S. Not sure about that one however.
