I am so anal about things like that. I will be sure to be very clear and exact when I book this trip. After all, we're talking about family here.

Don't worry. AA will <i>not</i> let you fly transatlantic on BA metal on an AAward.

That wasn't the issue, Gardyloo. We're talking about their flying BA from Venice to Gatwick only, which you can do as part of an AA award -- but only if it is coded properly. Since TexasAggie is talking about reserving these flights as they become available -- putting each let on hold -- it is important to make sure at the reserving of the first leg that there will be a BA flight later on, so that the AA award can be properly coded to allow that.
