American breakfast in Geneva?

Does anyone have any ideas where to go to get eggs and some good orange juice?

Is it possible? I'm assuming most of the hotels might have it, but anywhere else?

Why would you come to Europe looking for an American-style breakfast? Why don't you go looking for a cafe and see what's on offer?

Not saying it isn't possible, but that's nothing I've ever had/seen staying in and around the Geneva area.

McDonalds serves eggs and orange juice - depends what you call good. I think most Swiss hotels i've been in would do a special egg breakfast for you if asked - otherwise be satisfied with the ubiquitous hard boiled eggs.

Actually, I stayed in the Eden Hotel in Geneva a couple of years ago and there were eggs and OJ at the breakfast buffet in the morning.

Obviously eggs and OJ are not just an "American-style" breakfast any more.

Thank you for all the input everyone.
Kate-I agree on trying new things in other countries, but I am a really picky eater and I can only eat so many croissants!

Orange juice is a standard part of the breakfast in Switzerland. As to the soft eggs, most hotels will do them for you if you tell them the evening before (not sure about the really big chain hotels, but in most small(ish) hotels I have been in Switzerland and Germany this was the order of the things)

Try the multivitamin juice instead of OJ....you may like it better than orange juice!!! As for eggs, you will find them in the major hotels, but expect to pay dearly!

Hi P,

>I am a really picky eater and I can only eat so many croissants! <

Oh my, to be so jaded that you can't stand another croissant.

Come to rural Ga, USA for a month and have our "American breakfasts".

You'll kill for a croissant.

Hotel President Wilson. It has a huge breakfast buffet which includes the regular European type breakfast (yogurt, fruit, sliced meats and cheeses, etc.) as well as a selection of more typical breakfast items (bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, etc.).
