Amboise Hotel Option

Has anyone stayed recently in Amboise? I am planning a couple of nights at the end of April. The one hotel that looked like an option, Le Manoir Les Minimes, is undergoing renovation.

Is it completely closed? We stayed there and it was perfect. We were not in the main building, so if the main building is being renovated, then the other area might still work.

Hi!
Take a look at this thread Loire Valley hotels and sightseeing for tips on what to do and where to stay.

Thanks PJ94. I did see that thread and looked at 2 of the hotels mentioned but neither fit. Seems there aren't a lot of choices win the town.

Will you have a car? I recently stayed at Chateau de Pray, Chateau des Arpentis, and also Chateau de Nazelles. Each was wonderful in its own way, and I can highly recommend all three.

No I don't think we will rent a car. Will have recently spent a week in St. Remy and will do a number of day trips from there. So plan is to train from Paris and do a day tour to Chambord and Chenonceau. I did see Chateau de Pray and it looks very nice. Thank you for the recs.

Run don't walk and stay at: Auberge du Bon Laboureur opposite Chateau Chenenceau, 13 KM south of Amboise.
