Amalfi Coast Hotels Help ASAP

I am in Rome and heading for the Amalfi Coast in the morning. Can you recommend hotels in Sorrento or Positano around 100Euro or less on with water views?
Thanks,
Jill

I think you might want to cross out Positano in this price range.

Try La Minervetta in Sorrento, and some of the others along the same street if you have a guide book. I think Lorelei & Londres is still closed for the winter but you can try there too.

Actually I do think Jill can snag a hotel at that price in Positano. She's leaving tomorrow and this is still the slow season down on the Amalfi Coast.
I've stayed at the Villa Rosa and altho their rooms are higher than 100 euro, it may be worth showing up and asking what's available. If they have empty rooms due to time of the year, I'd venture they would be willing to negotiate on price, especially if you can pay in cash.

Otherwise I did a quick check on www.venere.com website and the Best Western in Positano is 110 euros right now; also another place that I've not heard of called Hotel La Reginella
http://www.venere.com/it/positano/lareginella/ is within your range.
Sorrento will give you more options. Many of the small hotels that can be less than 100 per night are still closed for the season.

HI,

Try Praiano for a hotel. I saw a hotel on a web site recently and it appeared to be quiet nice. The hotel was on the cliff for around 73USD. I think the web site was italyby.com We stayed in Praiano and loved it. There is not much there, but the transprotation is wonderful and the view spectacular. Our hotel was more expensive and it had a great roof top pool, but there are less ecpensive hotels in the town. Just make sure your hotel in on the ocean side of the road. We were there with around 15 people, so we had our own party every night an did not need to be entertained. Have a great time.

I mostly concur with all the previous responses, but if I recall, the lovely Villa Rosa closes for the winter season and may not be available.

DO make it a point to get up to Ravello for spectacular views from the Villa Cimbrone and a gorgeous panoramic view while having lunch at the Villa Maria terrace restaurant if they are open.
