still can't get alhambra tickets
I have tried to get tickets thru the internet. I got to web site once, started to order tickets and site dispeared, never to get it back again! I have continued to try web site (wwwalhambratickets.com) at different times of the day-still no luck. I tried to order by phone today at 01-34-91-537-91-78 and was told that number was incorrect! Please help-we will be in Granada April 08 and really want to see the palace. Thanks. nancyjjk

I'm actually from Spain and I've been to Granada millions of times over the years...I've never had to book tickets in advance. I don't know if you've ever been there, but it's a relatively small town. You should be fine just asking the hotel or doing it the day you plan on going. Also, just FYI bring comfy walking shoes, Granada, as beautiful as it is, is built on a steep incline in a valley on the Sierra Nevada. Suerte!

Hi nancy,
If you are not sucessful before your trip you can go into any BVA (Spain bank) and get them. We had ordered from the internet, but changed our dates when we arrived in Spain so we just went to a BVA branch and bought them there. I do know one thing, the internet site for tickets works strangely during some hours. I believe your best bet is to try during Spains normal business hours, which is 6 hours ahead of us. (EST that is)Hope this helps

nancy,
As Paula has said, I would make sure, if you haven't already, that you are using the www.alhambratickets.com during regular Spanish banking hours, as all advanced tickets sales now go through the BBVA bank system rather than the Alhambra box office.
But sometimes that site simply malfunctions.
I just this morning tried calling BBVA from home, dailing from the US: 011-34-91-537-91-78 and spoke to an agent.

As it indicates on the www.alhambra-patronato.es site, only 7,700 visitors are allowed into the Alhambra per day from March to October. During high season, June-July-Aug. and Holy Week tickets sometimes do completely sell out at the box office by 11 a.m. Not everyday of course, but it has happened. And even if tickets are still available, one often has to settle for an inconvenient time, late in the afternoon.
But since you're traveling the first of April, the crowds should not be nearly the problem they are in July, and as a poster found early this month, the lines were short with no problem entering at 10 a.m.

As others have advised, if you have no success in ordering over the internet or at the number I called above (if you're calling from another country, omit our 011 international code), you can ask your hotel to secure them for you, or take a tour that can be booked from most Granada hotels.

There is a full branch of the BBVA bank in Madrid's Barajas airport (upstairs). When I inquired there, they told me that they could make Alhambra reservations.

Good luck!
