Thoughts on Spain itinerary?!

I had posted in October regarding a trip to Spain with our 2 boys. Well, I have now almost finalized it.
March 22nd- evening flight from London to Sevilla(stay for 2 nights)
March 24th- drive to Ronda and stay for 2 nights.
March 26th early morning - drive to Granada and stay for the night.
March 27th - evening flight to London

Had considered Malaga/Marbella before instead of Granada however since its not beach weather anyways decided to skip it. However in Granada am not sure if the Alhambra palace will be too much for the boys..Any thoughts???
Am getting a good deal on Ryanair for London-Sevilla and Granada-London tickets.
TIA
Ash

I don't know how old your boys are, but IMO the Alhambra is exotic and unique enough to be exciting for kids. Just get your tickets in advance so you don't waste time at the entrance.

Our boys are 7 & 5 so I am thinking they should be OK. Other alternative is we could drive from Ronda to Marbella.

I would not miss the Alhambra. Be aware that the Alhambra Palace is a Hotel. Talking about the complex, (fortress, gardens, Generalife and Nasrid Palaces), say just La Alhambra.

Hi, I would do two days in Granada and one in Ronda.
Granada as Josele say has the complex of the Alhambra
which is a fantastic place to visit. For any age.
You must buy tickets ahead of time which can easily be done, last time I did it was through a bank. I forgot the name of those banks. This is would be the highlight of your trip, no doubt. A fascinated place as you can read in any guide book. Good luck.

Yes, I meant La Alhambra;-) I think we will take a shot at it as like you say we have read a lot about it..Would 1 night be enough for Ronda?

Hi, dabsjad -

I think 1 night is enough for Ronda, and it would be better to have a 2nd night in Granada instead.

Enjoy!

Ok things are finally in place for the most part!!!
2 nights in Sevilla (22nd and 23rd)
On 24th the 6 pm train to Cordoba staying at Los Omeyas.
I was able to book the train tickets on renfe using the Visa card(for some reason it kept on erroring with the AMEX card!!)
On 25th after Alcazar, by car to Ronda
25th night - Don Miguel in Ronda
26th afternoon drive to Granada and stay in Granada 26th and 27th nights. Flight to London is at 9 pm on 28th..
We have rented the apartment from Hotel Plaza Nueva in Granada.

One main question now I have is the type of clothes to take...Will it be shorts/short sleeve weather or trouser/jeans kind of weather ???
TIA

Though both are acceptd, it is easier here with VISA than AMEX.
Who knows about weather these days? But as a rule, expect cold, 5 to 15ºC.

I think 26ºC a very optimistic forecast. I'd carry long trousers, long or short sleeve shirts, light sweater and a jacket for the night.

Though windy all night, this noon is warm here in Malaga, over 20ºC. You see, you knever know. But it'll be under 10º at night.

I think you're trying to squeeze too much into a 1-week visit.

If I were going during those dates, somewhere in the Comunitát de Valencia (Benidorm?) would be my Base. They stretch the San José festivities as long as they can.

Thanks Josele !!!

I am taking more 'wintry' stuff for the kids as compared with shorts etc!!!

Now that the travel arrangements are in place I am busy playing with my newly acquired Nikon D90 to be able to get some good pictures on this trip!!!

Thanks a lot Josele!!! Your updates will come in handy as we are trying to implement the 'one carry one per person only' luggage rule this time!!!

Have a quick question about Alhambra! I have booked online tickets for March 27th. I read somewhere you need the pin of your credit card to retrieve the tickets at the time of visit. It said it is the security pin? Is that true? I am not fully sure what that is!

Weather update: temperatures have increased, sometimes in the middle of the day you can walk short-sleeved in the sun, though in the shade is cool, especially when breezy, a windbreaker needed. Today is windy and lower. At night you need sweater and light jacket.
