Guess those Italians will steal anything - are train station baggage storage safe? Same rationale. OK a bad idea but good intentions - I've never taken a cab in all my years of travel so didn't know how untrustworthy they are. You would of course keep your valuables with you - not sure cabbies would want clothes, etc in your bags -he would make more waiting 15 minutes and going back to station. One would think that a cab with a number on it and driver with a license would not risk it - but I guess I'm wrong. Just a suggestion that innocently seemed OK with me. Well leave bags in station and have cabbie drive and wait for you - maximize your time if only wanting to see Last Supper but as others have said the Duomo and other things downtown merit a few hours - take the Metro there - easy peasy.

If you've never taken a cab, why comment?> Cirq- I was giving options - why would I need to have ridden a cab to know that cabbies, given the chance, will pilfer things - has this happened to you or others. Options are always good even if they're not!

So of COURSE you simply had to insert yourself into a discussion you know nothing about . . . again.

Janis - it was a good suggestion and I don't have to take cabs to recommend that. Now that most say the cabbie may well steal your bags no did not dawn on me - one does not have to experience everything to recommend something as an option - and still is if they just want to see Last Supper and head back to station -leaving bags in station.

Recommending folks in a hurry take a cab to the Last Supper and have the cabbie wait there is a good option - sans luggage - now what about that do I have to experience to recommend as an option. None of course. And of course you continue your bullying which will NOT work on me.

They leve their luggage in the train station as I clearly stated. If it's ridiculous to you to recommend for folks who just want to stop by for 15 minutes the Last Supper that taking a cab from Milan Centrale station and have him wait to whisk them back to the station - well if that is ridiculous to you something is wrong with you. Please explain why that is a ridiculous suggestion? What would you recommend - yes they could take metro there and back but as said in OP they just want to see one place for 15 minutes having a cab take em and wait is a great suggestion. I stand by it. Enough hijacking of this thread.
