Alsace B&B recommendations

After many hours of searching we have decided to spend 4 nights in Alsace.

Some brilliant itinerary suggestions on Fodors. I think I have narrowed places to stay down to Obernai, Kayserberg or similar. We will have a car.

All recommendations are appreciated and any other hints and suggestions for the area. We will be arriving by train into Strasbourg, before hiring a car. Thank you

You may also try a not-so expensive hotel. This is the central website of 2- and 3-star hotels in France:

Hi Chads and Echnaton thank you for your replies.

Yes Chads I have heard of gites in France. We stayed 3 weeks in gites last year in rural France and 1 week in an apartment in Paris. We had a wonderful time and I wrote a trip report about our wonderful experience.

I know we only have a week in France this time (I just had to have another little taster) we will be spending more time in Italy. I thought a B&B idea would be nice for Alsace as we only have 4 nights. A little bit more personal perhaps?

Echnaton I will check out your suggested website.

We stayed in Riquwihr at L'Oriel which was nice, right in town center but with views of vineyards.Small and family owned. Good resaurant a few doors down the street.
Drove by Keintzheim and the Hostellerie Schwendi which looked likea good choice too.
