Why is everyone fascinated? Because it is simply one of the most beautiful structures in the world, coupled with outstanding gardens.

We also went both in the day and the evening and thought the night tour was magical. For one thing there were far fewer people and because of the low lighting and shadows, you see things that you may have missed during the daytime.
It might be an issue for people with vision problems, but my husband generally can't find his way to a seat in a darkened theater, but he thoroughly enjoyed our night tour.

Does anyone have any updates on the closures? Are any of them slated to re-open in the next few weeks? Or is this an open-ended remodel project?

If you are going in June, it will be bloody HOT! I was also at the Alhmabra in June at it was 103F. Bring a hat or umbrella with you.

I had a private tour guide for the Alhambra. I could have easily done the tour on my own with a guide book. There isn't that much to see that needs explaining.

The gardens are the best part of the Alhambra, in my opinion.

tourart- When I was there a month ago, good parts of the Nasrid Palace was not open for tour. The Lions (of the Courtyard of the Lions) are still under restoration. I doubt anything has changed in the last 4-6 weeks, but if you really want to know, you can send an email to Alhambra, or to the Granada tourist office. The rest of the Alhambra complex is open.
