Algarve or not????? Advice needed
My husband and I are visiting Portugal for the first time at the end of August.
After Portugal we are going to Seville to begin our Spain trip.
To get to Seville I was planning to take a bus from Faro airport where we plan to drop off our hire car.
The logical place to stay would be on the Algarve for our last two nights.
I would love to see the beach but am worried about the number of people and how busy it will be. The prices of hotels are also very steep.
We are not into big resorts.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Instead of Lagos I was thinking of staying in loulle and drving to some of the beaches...good idea???
Our Portugal itinerary is
Lisbon (4)
Porto (3)
Duoro (2)
Evora (2)
Lagos (2)?????? Or Loulle?????
Then Seville.
any advice appreciated.

If it doesn't have to be the Algarve, check out the Costa Vicentina in the southwest of Portugal, roughly between Setúbal and Sagres. Fabulous sandy beaches along the wild coast with high cliffs, beautiful landscapes, small villages, excellent food and last but not least ... no hordes of tourists. We were very pleasantly surprised by this unknown part of Portugal. We stayed in Vila Nova de Milfontes and loved it. It's about one and a half hour drive from Faro.
