Albergo del Senato 465E/night, is that right?
I've taken some Fodorites' recommendations and contacted del Senato for our first trip to Rome in April. They quoted me a rate of 465 Euro, that sounds expensive to me. Any idea what other hotel booking services I can turn to for half the rate for this hotel? Or am I being unrealistic?

In comparison, Villa San Pio quoted 197 E, and Hotel Pantheon quoted 310E. Based on these prices where would you stay? Thanks!

465E is the rate for the Senior Suite, which my family has booked for Easter week. I just checked Venere and all rooms at the Del Senato are booked from Good Friday until the following weekend. Maybe for the dates in April that you are traveling, the Senior Suite is the only room available.

I think we paid about US250/night last December, and we had a room overlooking the Pantheon. It was fabulous. We actually arrived a day early and since our room wasn't ready, were given a suite for one night at the same rate. I highly recommend this hotel.
