More a case of dislike the least vs. dislike the most, and I won't include tiny airports.

<font color = '#c25a7c'> I really liked the Detroit airport, and I will say that I did not like the domestic departure area of SFO. Mainly because the bookstore is before the check in point, and after the checkin point you only have like 2 places to choose from for coffee. And the coffee was bad.
I hear that the new international part is really good! So I will definately check it out when I go there for my trip.
It could have just been that the domestic terminal I was in was not maybe one of the most used or favorites. Who knows? </font>

Paris CDG is a beautiful airport that is the worst run facility in the world, hands down. The least attractive airport I've visited is Taiwan's Chiang Kai-shek Airport. It is cold, utilitarian, and intimidating, with signs warning that drug smuggling is a capital offense...

Most disliked: JFK & CDG, only because they're so big and hairy to navigate.
Least disliked: Istanbul, Turkey (you have to go through different security gates just to get in the door, and 4-5 times total to get to your plane, so you feel incredibly safe once you're "in".
Also like Portland, OR, and my home airport, DIA (Denver International).

There was only one functioning xray
screener in the airport which was hotter
than the hubs of hell.The lines wound
around the airport and outside in the
blinding heat, kids crying and screaming, people arguing and banging into you with their oversized luggage.
Finally we got up to someplace where
there were 2 Americans sitting off to the side and 1 working. After the
one screener had worked for about 20 minutes, he sat down and one of the
other ones "worked" so only 1 out of 3
was working at any given time, the others drinking coffee. We wanted to
scream out at them but were afraid we'd
be dragged into a tiny room somewhere to
be "strip searched."

I really liked Barcelona...my first visit there was in March. It's airy and has nice shops. My favorite US is Palm Springs, CA. Tiny, pretty, open air and easy! All of the others are "airports" not my consideration of the destination.

Oh...to add one more. The funkiest is Denizli in south central Turkey. In the middle of nowhere amid an avenue of palm trees. Only 1 runway and only 1 plane in at a time, though it is very clean, has modern facilities and flies 737 and 757 model planes from there. It was an "experience"!

Most disliked: ORD, LHR, CDG
Least disliked: PIT, Kona, DUB
Want to feel safe flying: El Al almost feel like you did something wrong during check-in. Definitely feel safe after you make it to the fence.

Best Hong Kong...walk right on a beautiful train to get to the city center
I like Portland, OR my hometown the best, Chicago is okay, Amsterdam I wish I didn't have to run through it.
Worst experience: Frankfurt, Paris is confusing, Rome even more so and totally disorganized when lots of people are boarding. I try to avoid Atlanta, Chicago, LAX, and NYC airports.
Get to use Red Carpet Room when I travel with spouse....my view is distorted sometimes! Nothing to complain about.

I am so glad you added Santa Barbara to your list. I think many ppl don't get there via SBA, but take LAX and drive up as a side trip.
There is nothing more Fab than getting off, walking down stairs (not a jet way) to eaisly find your waiting party. This is my home town. It is easy to navigate, and the landing is wonderful.
my worst would have to be my first dealing with of CDG. Man, that is just a dump! The signage is bad in any language!
My current home airport is LAS. I had to move here for my employer. I can say that our new airport is easy to deal with, even if it is just a hub.

Worst airports have to be Newark and Laguardia, followed by JFK.
Best, probably Frankfort and Munich. Another awful airport has got to be CDG. The rest of the airports I've been too are allright.

Well, to be fair - MCI <u>was</u> laid out before hijacking was a problem, and except for the inconvenience you mention, I think it's one of the best designs in the world. You can <i>still</i> be dropped off 30 feet from any gate.
Moving a few walls around would solve the lack of landside bathrooms. Or just put Porta-potties in the airside lounges.

Generally speaking, airports in the Orient are in a different league: Singapore (Changi), Kuala Lumpur and the new Hong Kong International are all excellent. In Europe, Heathrow is appalling and Amsterdam (Schipol) the best, especially if transferring an international flight. I'm afraid I'm not hugely fond of US aiports. McCarron In Vegas is okay but, if going to NYC, I'd urge you use Newark before JFK.

ilovetotravelI29, no, SFO's international terminal is not great at all. The food court has a small variety of extremely overpriced, underwhelming choices. You go past security and you're basically stuck with a choice between an upscale type of pizza place (individual pizzas) and a place where you can buy awful baked items and things like foccacia. Being stuck here more than several times I noticed more people eating at the pizza place. They do serve other Italian food but nothing that is memorable other than the high prices. However, the pizzas are not bad. You'd think that SFO would be one of the best in the world for dining choices, but it's not in my opinion.
