Airport bus Bilbao to San Sebastian and back
We fly into Bilbao for several days visit in San Sebastian and will take the airport bus from Bilbao AIrport to SS. Does the bus have a fixed schedule for the return from SS to Bilbao Airport on other days? We have a 1:00 PM plane and wonder if we can rely on the bus to get back to the airport or if we should rent a car. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Schedules are fixed in both directions. You can check based on the date on the Pesa website.
My friend recently took this bus and it's very reliable and convenient.

The bus to SS departs from the Bilbao Airport and drops you at the bus terminal at the Plaza Pius X1 which is next to the Silken Amara Palace Hotel in SS. I am assuming that the return trip to Bilbao AIrport would start there also.

I found it a bit stressfull trying to get on the right bus back to the airport since it's not a real bus station. Ticket counter is about a half block down the street, you wouldn't know it's there. Just make sure you know the right number of the bus to get on. People are generally very nice in the Basque country and can speak a little bit of English, especially if you try to speak to them in
Spanish (or Euskadi but good luck with that).

I've taken the PESA bus between San Sebastían and Bilbao at least some 50 times, and I've never experienced any delays. Quite sure the company operates the Bilbao airport line with the same accuracy. Taxi would be some 100€.

Just give yourself enough time in San Sebastian to find the correct bus company ticket office. It is a quite confusing bus "station" in San Sebastian. In fact it's really not a station just a square where the buses drop off/pick up passengers. The various bus companies are not located in one central building but in separate locations around a couple of blocks. If you arrive in San Sebastian at the bus "station" I'd just locate the PESA ticket office then or just give yourself extra time to find on your departure.

Look for departure: Aeropuerto Loui. Pesa bus stop is across the exit from terminal, impossible to miss it. Price 16.50€. For people who are not in a rush and want to save some € take city bus to Bilbao bus station (1.35€) and ALSA bus from there to SS (6.23€)

Hi! Hope I´m not too late for a few tips.
http://goo.gl/maps/Ta8rA This is the link for google maps area for the "bus station" and the PESA ticket office, that can not be seen very clear behind the trees...We call it bus station but as someone said before it is not, the new one would be problably ready in a couple of years. The best thing to know where is the bus going to the Loiu airport is to ask, young people speak good english so they will be pleased to help you, or try it in Spanish..¿cuál es el autobus para el aeropuerto de Bilbao/Loiu?. As for the bus stop in the Loiu Airport, it stops right on the exit following the bus signs, you pay directly to the driver and it departs every hour at .45. I´ve taken it several times and it was always on time.

Hi, I'll be making this round trip trip ( Bilbao to Ss) this February. Aside from pricing, Is the general process the same: catch Pesa bus at airport and find the return outside the Amara Palace Hotel? Thank you in advance for your help.
