You've got two choices, Air Europa (one-stop) and Iberia (non-stop). The earliest non-stop you could catch would be the 11:50 am flight on the 11th. If you haven't already booked your international flight, you could add the Madrid-Sevilla flight to the ticket and possibly save some money.

If you had purchased your connecting flight on the same ticket and had a good connecting time I could see flying from Madrid to Sevilla. But if you didn't and need to pick up luggage, recheck in and potentially change terminals you're probably better off taking the train.
Great time to visit Sevilla!

Flying actually might be cheaper unless you can get reduced train tickets. The high speed train would be fun as an experience. With all of these options you will have the situation of not having a protected ticket if your PHL flight comes in late so judge accordingly.

I've read that it's quicker and cheaper to take the train from the airport to Atocha. (I've yet to test this out as my trip is next month).
The train station at the airport is at Terminal 4. (There’s a shuttle from Terminal 2 to Terminal 4).
Commuter rail (Line C1) leaves from Terminal 4 at the airport and will take you to Atocha . Cost: 2 euros & 40 cents. Journey time approx 20 mins. Check timetable at: http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/cer...rid/index.html [There's an airport express bus that takes 40 minutes (about twice as long) and costs €5.]
Good luck! And enjoy Seville, it's a fabulous city.

If you are at T2 or T1 just hop on the airport bus outside the doors to Atocha and forget about all that. You would only consider the train to Atocha if you were already at T4.. and then if you saw the bus pulling up outside luggage collection you might as well hop n it and go above ground.

Just as suggested by the guide.. just good to know the options in general. I was only suggesting from personal experience.
"The line to Barajas Airport (Terminal T4) is C1 (platform nº1). It is the most direct and inexpensive way to get to the airport from Atocha train station (ticket: € 2.15), because it takes less time than the Express Bus (see below) and is cheaper than taxi (€ 31 one way). Recommendation:"
(My point being):
" If you want to go to terminals T1, T2 and T3, you should take Express Bus because Cercanías trains only go to T4."
