Do Euro cities like Paris, Frankfurt have the equivalent of Goodwill/Salvation Army where we could buy crappy clothes over there, wear them for 3 weeks, and throw them away the night before return?

Since I'll be taking Air France to the U.S. next week, I've been wondering if they are maintaining that rule if people are obliged to check in all carry-on luggage to certain airports.

sfgirl42-I've also heard great things about Air Tahiti Nui over many years as I'm from L.A. County. They have been flying out of LAX for a long time. The only reason I didn't go over to them many years ago is that I've been on Delta's and United's frequent flyer program for decades. But, now with all of this charging of a second suitcase, on international flights starting up, I'm seriously thinking of switching over.

It's good these rules weren't in affect when I had to fly to friends' weddings in Europe and pack two suitcases as the wedding clothes that I had to wear in the wedding wouldn't fit into just one suitcase. And since it's cold up in Denmark, heavy clothing has to also be packed. Try getting cold-weather clothing, along with everything else, into one suitcase. And I used to be gone for 11 weeks at a time.

And I feel for my sister and her husband, and others in the same situation, who have small children and will have to stuff everything into one suitcase each. Everyone doesn't have the same circumstances of being able to pack it all into one suitcase.

Being female, I like to pack, two medium-sized suitcases and check them in as I absolutely can not lift one huge suitcase to put on overhead racks on trains, subways, other public airport into town transportation, etc...in places around the world. Happy Travels!

does anyone not notice that ticket fee go up and that we are getting hosed on the amount of luggage we are allowed to take i fly every 8 months canada to europe and pay good money for the ticket only to be gutted at the check in counter, also since klm delta have teamed together they have really screwed with the award ticket paid with points 2 years ago i paid about $145 cad taxes and fees just bought 2 tickets for feb 2 and paid over $475 each ticket W T F is this ,also paid $210 to transfer point from my account to another,so 2 tickets points transfer came to a total of $1158.00 i should have just bought 1 ticket cash and the other with points, taking away the 2 piece luggage down to 1 and then charging to put it back on is ----- this company is going downhill with customer appreciation i looking for another airline now

Swiss air still allows 2 pieces of luggage.. but not with their partners.. so you may still get stuck with a fee depending on where you are going. It's about the only one now I think, between the US and Europe that does that.

You could try flying more? Elites get two free bags with most of the major airlines.
