Advice on Berlin hotels

Forgot about that. My husband, who likes anything sausage, tried the curry wurst and was of the same opinion.
The KaDeWe is more of the size of G/L Paris, and absolutely spectacular! We'd gone in just for a quick "look around" and couldn't leave. The restaurants/bars at the top . . . made the Harrod's Food Halls look like a poor relation.

"A nice Christmas market is just around your corner on Gendarmenmarkt. You need to pay a nominal entrance fee, but that keeps it from getting too crowded."
I'm not sure when you went Cowboy but I think the fee goes toward the nice white stall tenting and the entertainment. Gendarmenmarkt has been wall to wall with revelers both times I went (evening).
