Advice Needed: From Bergen to Geneva?

I have 2 days to get from Bergen to Geneva. I would like to take a ferry for as far south as possible, then a train. Could anyone recommend a route? I'd hate to just fly. Thanks in advance~!

this line will get your from Bergen to Hirtshals (in Denmark) by ferry:

It's probably a pretty trip, but I don't know about connections from Hirtshals onward.

You could also take a train from Bergen to Oslo and take the overnight ferry (quite a party boat) to Copenhagen. Then train from there (or fly, if you've run out of time).

From Bergen to Geneva by train is more than 35 hours. If you take the ferry from Oslo to Copenhagen the train trip is then 14 to 16 hours. Not sure about other ferry options.

I don't hate flying~ a colleague and I have been doing a "work" trip (OK~ it involves seeing ballet performances every night in London, Paris, and Copenhagen) and we're tacking on 4 days at the end for a personal trip to Norway, because my friend and colleague's birthmother was Norwegian and she has never been to the country (we;'re doing a Nutshell that ends in Bergen). She is flying out of Copenhagen on the 23, and I'm to check in to my Geneva hotel for a class reunion the 23. She is leaving Bergen on the 21 for Copenhagen, and I have 2 days so was trying to consider a more scenic as well as relaxing route. I have pre-paid my hotel in Geneva, so thought I'd spend the time seeing something new but having a break from pretty non-stop theatre-going and sightseeing.
I will look into train connections from Hirtsals. Even as someone who loves trains, the 35-hours sounds awful.
Thanks for the tips~!
