Advance Train Tickets: Madrid to Toledo?
Having traveled through Italy and not getting train tickets in advance, I'm reading it's necessary to do so in Spain. We arrive 7:30am to Madrid and plan on going directly to Toledo to stay 2 nights. Another question: Renfe website indicates English but it reverts to Spanish to buy tickets? Suggestions on both? Thanks so much.

We were told that Madrid-Toledo-Madrid is a very popular route and were advised that when we bought our early morning tickets TO Toledo we should also then get our return tickets to Madrid for that evening. If you are flexible with times, I guess you can wait, if not I think it is better to buy beforehand.

Follow Tripadvisor's latest (March 5th 2010) tutorial on booking tickets on Renfe site:

Follow the advice on www.seat61.com/Europe-train-tickets.htm in the 'How to use the Spanish rail website' section.
You start in Spanish (DO NOT switch to English on their home page), THEN switch to English bottom left when the results page appears.
