Advance Train tickets

Question 1: I have purchased advance train reservations for May. One ticket is on a Regional train. It appears from my confirmation, that I need to use a self-service ticket machine to actually dispense my ticket. Do I then need to validate these tickets? Also, if necessary, can advance reservations be changed for a regional train? I have a reservation code, but not a reservation change code on my email confirmation.

Question 2: My Eurostar reservation is ticketless. Am I correct in assuming that I just need to have my printed confirmation on hand (without validating) to board the Eurostar train?

Hi Neet,

You can get your R train ticket from a ticket machine or from the ticket counter. It must be validated.

>..can advance reservations be changed for a regional train?<

Your R train doesn't have reserved seating (prenotazione). You can take any train.

You are correct about the ES* train. All seats are reserved and your ticket is good only on that train.

PS,

To get your R train ticket, make sure you use the same CC that you used to buy it online.

Thanks Ira. That helps. Since the Eurostar reservation is good only on a particular train, I do not need to validate my printed confirmation, correct? I have a ticketless reservation for the Eurostar train.
