Adding a hyperlink
How on earth do I do it? I've tried to add a link by the usual method that I use for other boards and it just won't work, but I see skillions of people doing it. Can you spell 'loser'??? LOLOLOL.....

I often just cut and paste links, also, but even when I just type one in, it is added with no problems, like this, so I have no idea what you are doing that would be different than that (you do not have to be a programmer and add special characters or language to it, just type it in, with or without the http prefix and two slashes. Following are two example, the first just the URL typed, the second where I added the http thing in front (I added the www to both)
www.fodors.com
http://www.fodors.com
www.fodors.com
http://www.fodors.com

Hi Liz - need more computer training I see!
If you're copying a fodors thread to link then go to the thread, right click on the header, and select "copy shortcut." Then paste this into your response. You can either right click to paste or hold the control key and press the letter V on the keyboard.
For external links follow the directions from the other posters. BTW - the link doesn't turn blue until you post the reply so don't worry if you see the link in black when you copy it. It will work.

fodors.com/forums is an example of a site that requires a www in front of the server name. If you don't type it, you won't go where you expect to.
Also, some foreign web addresses require either a www or http:// in front to be recognized as URLs by the Fodor's script, such as tfl.co.uk or voyages-sncf.fr
These limitations only occur on the Fodor's site, so that's why you don't see them anywhere else.

Robespierre, I would have said that you are correct about needing the www., but janis just posted the link without it for justairports.com and sure enough -- I click on it and it works! And I hate to tell you this, but I just clicked on your fodors.com which you say won't work -- and it does!

justairports.com has always worked. But a few months ago, Fodor's made a change to their server script that made fodors.com/forums go to the Fodor's home page, and not to the forums. I know, because my thread bookmarks stopped working.
I guess they fixed it.
