Accomodations in Venice?? Help!

We are spending 3 nights in Venice during our trip to Europe this fall, and would like to stay in basic, clean accomodations. We prefer to stay in a central location (i.e not one of the islands) but we are hoping to spend less than 100 euros/night per couple. We are 3 couples and a 3 bedroom unit would fit our plan as well as double rooms. Does anyone have any suggestions, or are we completely out of the ballpark with our "under 100 euro" limit?

Try

www.alcampaniel.com

It doesn't have many more than three rooms, but it's centrally located at the border between San Polo and Dorsoduro. The vaporetto stop is San Toma, and there is also a traghetto that goes across the Grand Canal to San Stefano.

We just got back from our first italy trip, and stayed in apartments found on www.vrbo.com. The apartment we rented in Venice is:www.vrbo.com/17697. It is HUGE, with 3 bedrooms, and is a "real" apartment where the owners live some of the time...hence, very Venetian, but not fancy. E.g. odd hot water heater, a washer "dryer" combo, etc. It was very comfortable for 5 of us, however, and very reasonable (under 200 euros). Very clean and pleasant, in an ancient building...a bit tricky to find, but 10 minute walk from the train station. Our other vrbo choice would have been www.vrbo.com/19075, which might be a more updated alternative, near the Rialto bridge (and 200 euros or less!).

www.vrbo.com/17697 is exactly the place I am interested in staying this coming May in Venice. However the website does not give an address, nor a map showing the location of the apartment. That's one reason I don't like the vrbo Venice site.

If you had stayed there, would you please tell me where about is the apartment. Do you recall the street it is located?

many thanks in advance!!

I researched this place, although I haven't stayed there. Both apartments and double rooms are available. The reviews are very good and so are the prices. However, if either couple is unmarried, there might be problems (based on one review).
