accomodations in Oxford

My husband, daughter (17 yrs.old) and I will be visiting our son who is studying at Oxford (Mansfield College) for the year. We need a room for three people in April for three nights. We will not have car and must rely on public transportation. Would like to stay in the center of town if we could find something affordable. Would like to stay under 100 GBP per night. Thanks for the help!

Hi. I'm currently studying abroad at Oxford, and there are a few hotels in town. If you would be comfortable with this, you could ask your son to see if Mansfield has any guest rooms for rent. I'm at New College, and we have 3 rooms for rent. Cost is 12 GBP per person and include private bathrooms, clean rooms, etc. New has a couple of doubles and a single, so if Mansfield has similar arrangements you and your husband could possibly stay in one room and your daugher in another.

lydiaf, just an fyi my son is studying at Hertford College and I am looking for a place to stay. I have been told that Hertford does have accommodations that parents can access. I'm looking for a place to stay and thus far have not had a lot of luck except for some exceptionally expensive places.

Thank you Joe Tro, our son is checking out the possibilities at Mansfield for us. Adamsparks, I have been checking out other possibilities. I don't know what price range you are looking in but the following two websites have been very helpful: http://www.stayoxford.co.uk/maphotspots.html and http://www.s-h-systems.co.uk/oxford.html. I have emailed several places and have received many prompt replies. We need a triple, but if you are looking for a single or double it seems you have many more options than we will.

thanks lydiaf. You might want to try oxfordcity.co.uk , since there are three of you. There are some nice flats for let, that would give you some more room.
