Accommodation in Glasgow
We will be in Glasgow at the end of August for two nights and would appreciate suggestions for accommodation. A hotel in Paisley had good reviews but after reading about that not being a safe neighbourhood, have now decided against this one. As we will have a car we will require parking. Look foward to suggestions. Thanks!

Have a look at these two sites:
www.lastminute.com
www.laterooms.com
You can choose your location and your £££'s per night.

I tend to go to www.bookings.nl and then pull up a map. If you have a car, chances are you won't want to be directly in the city center. But if you wave the cursor over the map and look further afield, and see places with high ratings (8.0 or higher is always great) you can then click and see if they have parking (and see what people say in the review comments about ease of getting into the center using public transportation if you want that).

Thanks Rubicund. Janisj, our budget would be around £100 per double although could be more knowing prices in the city are higher. Had found a guest house/hotel in Paisley which looked nice but have now been advised that Paisley is not a very safe neighbourhood. We will be driving from the Lake District and from Glasgow continue on to Fort William.
Thank you dfourh for your hint. Yes we have looked a that site. We were hoping for some personal recommendation, maybe.

Acer View/Balgonie House looks to be in a leafy residential area w/ large grounds. Wouldn't seem to be a place to be concerned about. Not many TA reviews but mostly very good.
Ashtree House has more reviews and most are VERY good. It is in a more commercial area - but that is good because there are shops and restaurants nearby. It is near Paisley Abbey -- I'd have no issues staying there.
