accommodation for 6 in Dublin
We are looking for reasonable accommodation for 6 (2 adults+4 kids) for 2 nights in August. It could be a flat or any other ideas as all hotels seem really expensive for 2 rooms. thanks.

You might wnat to look at the Dublin International Hostel, http://www.anoige.ie/hostels/dublin-international, as a way of accommodating such a large group at a reasonable cost.
Most Flat rentals are done on a weekly Saturday to Saturday basis, especialy during high season.

Several years ago my family stayed in a 3BR apartment in Dublin through www.premgroup.com. I would highly recommend them, and we would certainly stay there again.
We had reserved a 2BR apartment for the 6 of us, but were given a 3BR at no extra charge. Two rooms had double beds and the third had a single, plus the living room couch had a sofa bed. The kitchen had everything we needed, and there was also a washer and dryer. The shower was the best shower we had in two and a half weeks in Ireland.
The location was also excellent -- just a block away from St. Stephen's Green.
One warning: the website is not very user friendly, and the automated prices on the website were far higher than what we were quoted when we e-mailed directly. So I would recommend e-mailing your dates and see what price they give.
Another suggestion would be to google apartments in Dublin. I've found a very good selection, but I haven't stayed in any of those, so I couldn't give you first-hand info. Also, look into vrbo.com, which is "vacation rentals by owner". I've booked apartments through that website with great success.

Check the apartment sites as I would not reccommend staying in a hostel with Children in the city centre. Its just a security issue with Children you have to be careful in every place these days.
