Just got back form Italy a few days ago and took a Tree amigos tour with Karl. Deborah left me a local number to us and called back after a long day in Capri and she even answered the phone. She meet us in St. Peter's Square with a ticket to see the Pope's Wednesday audience; very moving. The Tour started at 11:30am and lasted until 3:00pm and we still made not seen St. Peter's. WE stayed until after 4pm. What a day. I was impressed with their knowledge and their ability to answer even small childrens questions; have 2 kids between 9 and 12 and several teenagers on our tour. I was also inpressed that as we got in line for the Vatican Museum, Karl keep a look out and watched us all pass a local pickpocket. They also have a student price, so be sure to ask. Also, be aware that you pay your enterence to the museum directly to the Valican and that there is a student price there also. Our Tour was one of the highlights of our trip and I heard several people in our group say that this was the best money they had spent in Rome.

We recently done a christian tour with the three amigos and it was amazing, we visited 5 churches one which included steps walked on by Christ then we went to the Catacombs and our guide Chay took us down and completed a perfect day.

Based on the favorable comments on this board, my family and I scheduled a tour with Chay from Three Amigos in Rome for July 5. He was to meet us at our hotel at 11am. We waited until 12 and then ventured out on our own. We were disappointed, but decided to make the best of it. Armed with our maps and advice garned on this site, we managed to hit all of the spots we were supposed to see on the tour, with the exception of the Mouth of Truth. By the end of the day, we had forgotten about Chay's "no-show".

Yesterday, after our return, I e-mailed Chay conveying my disappointment. I received this response from him:

"Sadly my father passed away on the 2nd of July and I have since returned to
Scotland to be with my Mother.
Sorry for any inconvinience I may have caused. The company is no longer in
service.
Chay"

Obviously, his 'no-show" is now perfectly understandable, and our minor inconvenience was totally insignificant in comparison to his unfortunate loss.

I just wanted to let others know, in case they were planning on using his services, that they should make other arrangements.

Is this true? I had reservations for September 11th in the Vatican, and he did not let me know of any cancellations!

Believe me, it's true. Make other arrangements so you are scrambling at the last minute.

How sad indeed. However, I have an email confirming our reservation (in Aug) that Chay emailed me on 7/19/02. Perhaps they are hoping to still operate by late Aug??
