It has indeed been a windy winter.

All those wind farms may actually be producing enough to light 3 houses by now.

Here too - trees down, at least one ship in trouble in harbour. Not my son's thankfully.
Sea defences are closed in many places too.

I live in Edinburgh and it has been pretty bad ,the roof of the flat has lost quite a few tiles and some side flashing, considering it was only repaired about 3 weeks ago after the last storm i am not a happy chappie.

Wow! and I thought it was bad when we were in Edinburgh this past September and caught the remmants of Hurricane Katya.

We had similar winds here in Colorado a few days ago up to 70 mph in the foothills and over a 100mph at places in the mountains. Nice now with temperatures getting near 60 today.

100 plus makes it on a par with a Cat 2 hurricane. Although, we had gusts not consistent blows.

Cat 2 hurricanes make most yankee's knees wobble and have them heading off for the bunkers.

at 92mpg I presume you are running your car on chip fat or Buckfast's finest.

Heard the wind has disrupted the haggis breading season. Could be a sparse 25th this year.

DickieG...more like free wheeling down hill with the wind behind!
And the Haggis may have more even legs this year, as they have been unable to stand facing the same way all the time on the hillside.

On a more serious note.....more updated storm pics...

The photograph of Port Partick doesn't look that dramatic until you realise that the wall is over 45 ft high and is dry at low tide. That is a very high tide.

It pains me to see the Grand Designs house. Most of those projects put their owners through hell. To see it so badly damaged is a shame. Although I am sure I saw the house for sale a couple of years back.
