A somewhat unusual 13th-century Italian mural

I hope this story about a recently discovered medieval mural doesn't offend anyone.
http://tinyurl.com/5dnen (leads to a Yahoo story)

Has anyone been to the Tuscan town of Massa Marittima?

I too could not open the link.

A search for Massa Marittima at Google News brings up links to several reports, including this one:

No, I have not been to Massa Marittima, but then I have not been to Italy, period.

I have been to Massa Marittima and a very charming town it is! I was there more than 4 years ago, however, and so did not see the mural. Oh those Guelphs and Ghibellines -- they fussed and feuded almost as much as some fodorites. Thanks for the link, WillTravel. Fascinating info.

Maybe so, WillTravel, but at that time I was unable to open the link you provided. Oddly enough, your link is working for me now.

There's a rental cottage called Casina di Rosa in Civitella Marittima whose owner, Gloria, posts at Slow Talk. I've had some e-mail correspondence with a German member of the ST forum who stayed at Casina di Rosa and loved the area.

PS Reuters made a mistake in describing the location of Massa Marittima! The article says it is in northwest Tuscany, but it is, in fact, in southwest Tuscany.

Judy, sorry - I just meant that comment for the convenience of other viewers - I didn't mean you were repeating me. The reason I didn't use the Yahoo link directly is because it had a particular word right in the link, and I wasn't sure Fodors would accept it. Thanks for providing an easier link.
