A small plane crashes in the Dordogne

French news reported that a Frenchman and his teen-age daughter died when their Cessna plane crashed onto the Garden of a Brit who was standing only yards away in the village of Villac.

It's not like I subscribe to it! I just did a quickie search on the news site of French Google, and some links didn't work, but this one had the most detail. Plane crashes are a major incident for firefighters anywhere.

A fortyish father who wasn't qualified and who was flying in bad weather conditions - and his 15-year-old daughter.

Makes you wonder.....

Must have been quite a fright for the British guy, though

Our newspaper had a similar account (without fatalities, though) of a plane that came down in metro Indianapolis. It can happen anywhere in the world. Very sad for those involved but there are definitely dangers when you take up a hobby like flying.

It is somewhat like what happened to JFK, Jr.

OK every time I see "Les Pompiers" I think of my first trip to Paris in 2001.

There were posters everywhere of a Chippendale's style male burlesque show that was the "Pompiers de Paris."

By the way I have a word of advice.

No matter how rich you become. No matter how famous you are. No matter how important you ever become. No matter what.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS FLY COMMERCIAL!

Richie Valens, the recent senator from Minnesota, Aliyah, John Denver, Amelia Earhart, the list goes on and on.

Man, Indy is right! There are far too many small-plane accidents.Makes me worry for flygirl on this forum who is getting her pilot's license. But I admit to being a wussy flier to begin with.
