A perfect day in Firenze

Wow, this day started out good and just stayed perfect. Awoke to clear blue skies, moderate temps and no wind. Spent the day going up to Piazzale Michelangelo, down to Santa Croce, over to Lorenzo and finally to the chocolate festival. The overlook and Chocolate, all in one day. DW loves the "shiny things" on the Ponte Vecchio. For the uninitiated, Ponte Vecchio has some really expensive jewelry shops, unfortunately we had to leave the bridge before DW got too enthralled (ha ha)

Ended the day with a great meal at a fantastic price at Ristorante Vecchia Firenze. 4 course meal, including wine and desert for two, all for 41 euros. Met the talented fresco artist that decorated the entire structure. Owner and staff are great. I do not often recommend restaurants, this one is a winner.

Hi Dave,

your day was similar to one I had in May. I particularly remember that while I was up at the piazzale michelangelo there was a japanese couple who'd just got married having their photos taken...they were having such a lovely time.

Then she deserves a trinket or two from the bridge.

Yep ky, she does, but she is actually more of the cheapskate than I. I kept pushing her to buy some shiny things and she found a small shop that sold her Pandora charms. Now all is right with the world,

dave and regina --- off to Paris tomorrow for a couple of weeks. Time is going by too fast.
