A new London web site
For any who are interested, I found a new website for those who like walking around London - www.walkit.com

All the site does, once you've fought your way through its self-congratulation, is show you how to walk from A to B.
Which for the past 50 years, most of us grumpy old Luddites have been happily doing by lugging our Stone Age, 2/6d, copies of A-Z out of our pockets and following the map.
Now if you live in the back of beyond, and can't get hold of an A-Z, there might be something useful this site does that multimap doesn't.
But the rapturous applauders the site quotes about itself mostly live in London. Assuming their quotes are genuine (not universally the case among dotcom startups), what DO they see in it?

Ah, good ol' Flanner - what would we do without you anchoring our collective feet to the ground? One possible use for the site though, is to help all those non Londoners figure out whether their hotel is within walking distance of Big Ben, The Tower, The Eye, or wahtever other landmark (pub, restaurant etc) they may choose ...
