OK, I'll confess... I have been a seducer...
AND some of my favorite memories are of being a seducee...

I guess I still got it, or at least some of it... a feller in Gay Paree tried to seduce me with an offer of a coke... I demurred coyly...
then the offer of "With ICE!"
I resisted, and that is a shame.

Um actually, as we know, sometimes no is not well understood as meaning NO! by some men, even in the US, no?.
joiedeamour, 2 good phrases, in case you don't wanna spring for a small phrase book are :
"Lascia mi da sola!" (Leave me alone!!) (pron: LASH-AH-MEE-DA-SOLAH) and "Vai via!" (Go away!!), preceded by the word no, will probably work better than just "No".
LOL, re calling the police, actually, one fellow who tried to come on to me in Rome WAS a policeman! pretty funny....

It sounds like your friends, joie, have interesting vacations. I am still not sure what is bothering you. If you want to seduce or be the seducee (great!SuszieC) you can certainly pick and choose your "victim". If you don't want to, just ignore them or yell "no".
Better yet, don't put yourself in a situation where someone has the opportunity to dominate you. Maybe this is easier said than done, but tell us where you are from and that might help a little.

Yes, but have you seen the policemen in Rome? Very nice looking males, dominating or not!
I've been to Italy with girlfriends (Milan in this case) and thought the male attention not at all pushy, just flattering.

Seriously... if your two girlfriends really had this experience (and more than once!) they are naive. Their experience does not illustrate "male dominated society" but instead extremely poor judgement on their parts on numerous occasions.

The advice about not putting myself in the situation didn't work for one of my friends, she was seduced by the married day tour guide...in the bus!!
OK, I should seduce if I want to but only with a policeman and if I get seduced and I yell no a policeman will come and seduce me too? Just kidding.
It all sounds very complicated some of you want the attention and some of you don't. Two out of two friends I know who have been to Europe have been seduced and I am from a small town yes.
I notice the males here treat this like it is all a joke in their weary way of trying passive agressive dominance. What does skirts up and nose down mean anyway!

When you say seduced, do you mean your friends willingly agreed, or are you talking about something more sinister like drugging or date rape? If it's just the standard meaning of the word "seduced", you are clearly not in danger because you can turn down the proposition.

If you want to go to Europe and have sex with foreign men, go for it. If you don't want to, it is easily avoided. The only effect it might have on you unwillingly is men staring or making small comments on the street.
The results will come (as did for your friends) from your own behaviors, not the fact you are traveling in Italy.

My stage name? The only stage out here is at the horse auction and no comments on that please.
My friends are innocent and very pretty by the way so don't rag on them please. We are not well traveled and figure we should break away from Dairy Queen Society.
