I am astounded that my feedback about A La Carte is considered 'questionable' and I suggest you are more careful about such comments. The timing of the issue on Trip Advisor is irrelevant (and note has been resolved to the satisfaction of the blogger!). People are very quick to complain (even about relatively minor issues) yet positive feedback is just as valuable for travellers. I have since looked at the trip advisor thread and as Katstrov pointed out, their issues were resolved to their satisfaction (and they are keen to point that out on this site too). It sounds to me that Alex Wagner is making every effort to ensure his customers are satisfied and takes on feedback to improve the service offered by his company.
I am not a fictional blogger and have no affiliation with A La Carte!

To the rest of you who insist on hijacking the thread with your own issues, enough, please. Let it go.

I hope the OP will find a trustworthy rental company or hotel...this site is loaded with recommendations so keep reading and watching.

I would like to notify readers of Fodors Forum that I was contacted by Alex Wagner of A La Carte Paris with a request to satisfactorily resolve the issues we had with his company last year.
He apologized profoundly for our unfortunate situation and wanted to make sure this doesn't happen again to any of his clients. We have been issued a full refund. We communicated by phone and e-mail several times and my confidence in A La Carte Paris has been restored. His company has a new policy which you can read at http://blog.alacarte-paris-apartment...ervice-updatre. He has taken large strides to ensure his customers are 100% satisified.

All that over a fan and internet connectivity? Wow.

Sounds like I should visit Charleston where there are no mice and no heat!

I emailed them about an apartment, several times as I wasn't getting a response, and finally heard back from them over a week later! I would never use an agency that is so unresponsive. It sounds like this agency has a lot of customer service issues, hopefully the owner of this agency addresses these issues or I don't see how anyone would want to deal with such an unprofessional agency.

Having just finished a five day rental of an apartment in Paris’s Marias District, organized through A La Carte Apartments, I am writing to express how wonderful we found the service. From the moment we made our initial inquiry via email with the A La Carte booking team, we have been diligently responded to on every question. The team helped us book a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment that could accommodate my husband and I, and a teenager (16 years). The third floor apartment was accessible via a small elevator, and was clean, spacious and light. Fresh fruit and wine were waiting on the table for us; white fluffy towels were in both bathrooms; fresh crisp sheets on the comfortable beds; and a comprehensive manual for operating all the equipment was provided. Also, the manual recommended good quality places to eat in the district. At every restaurant we chose, the staff were very friendly and not at all bothered by our poor and often mispronounced French. The residents of the apartments around us were very friendly and quiet. Katy, from the A La Carte booking team, also helped us to organize a driver and car who met us at the airport. Our driver was lovely, helping us with our bags at the airport and destination. The apartment was close to everything we needed. Thank you A La Carte for a wonderful five nights in Paris.

I stayed in a Parisbestlodge apartment last year. I enjoyed staying in an apartment and would choose an apartment again if I were vacationing in Paris, however I'd be sure to choose one with a lift in order to avoid having to drag my suitcase up 4 flights of stairs. On the other hand the exercise probably helped fight the calories resulting from my frequenting of nearly every chocolatier in the 5 & 6th Arron.

I'm not sure if Qwovadis was referring to tenants or landlords as the tax dodger/scammer but I think the comment was rude if directed at tenants, since I pay my taxes and do not scam anyone.
