9 Month Rental in Paris ? How?

Would it be better to contact a Real Estate agent in Paris to find a 9 month furnished rental in Paris (7th) for my daghter studying at the Sorbonne?
I have tried some sites, but either they are extremely expensive (marketed more towards vacation rentals) or not available now.
I do not want to be in a position to have to go a week or two prior to find one.
If anyone knows of a nice 1br near the Sorbonne, PLEASE let me know.

I don't have an apartment recommendation for you, but have you tried contacting the school for some recommendations? The Sorbonne is fairly popular with study abroad students so my guess is that they would know of some options for your daughter.

Good luck!

I contacted the Sorbonne, but they basically refer you to a website with rental information. Most of it is geared towards students looking for Dorm like hosuing, or shared apartments, etc.
So far I have had no luck finding anything.
I am even getting to the point of thinking of buying an apartment, the only thing that holds me back is the Euro at $1.36

Ignore that, missed the bit about your daughter studying.

Have you tried contacting the accomodations officer at the Sorbonne?

The short answer is, it's not easy. You are looking for a furnished rental, or "Location meublee." You might try Particulier a Particulier or FUSAC classifieds. You can Google those, and the latter is in English. If you deal with a French landlord there will be requirements in the way of long-distance financial guarantees.

Paris attitude has some longterm rentals. The saff is extremely helpful..a studio can easly be found for 800-900 e/mo. P a P as previously noted in a great site but you might find the above agency easier to deal with.
