$770. For tickets to Italy

I just reserved my plane tickets from NYC to Rome for $770. Dates are July 30-August31. I'm just wondering if the reason for the low price are my dates. Anyone find anything better then $770.?

Your stay is longer than 30 days, which often activates a more expensive fare rule. Did you try a shorter period (if that is an option for you)?

Maria,
from NYC is not a good fare.

I paid the same price for an open jaw ticket from SAT(texas) to FCO(Rome) from CDG(Paris) to SAT.
But of course now everything is more expensive, but keep looking.

It sounds awfully good to me. I can't find anything close to that, but I'm on the West Coast. Good point about changing it to 7/20 - 8/30.

My daughter is going to Rome from Norfolk(her husband is in the Navy at tech school over there) and it is costing her 1100$. She is going July 21-28. I think you are quite lucky.

You got a HUGELY good deal for this time period! How did you do that, and with whom did you book? I haven't found any fares out of JFK during July to London running less than a 1,000, and to Italy during July less than $1200-1300!

I just checked Expedia and the cheapest fare was $789.00 with AA..This year is much more expensive to fly overseas.

$770 is a good price right now, and it's unlikey to go any lower unless for some freak last-minute deals. If you're certain to go, don't hesitate to book this fare right now.

Hmmm. that's interesting-I just looked on Travelocity-and it's been my experience that their fares are generally a bit lower than Expedia. The $789 would probably be before taxes. Well, I obviously need to look again!
