Here are just a few photos from the 2nd week. Loading the files isn't a problem -- but the sets/organizing etc are still fiddly. Suppose it will get easier . . . . .

whew! just got through in one go, was so much fun, thanks. My daughter and I are heading from Oz to London in Nov, after doing the museums and galleries(straight to the tate is our motto) we are training it to Holyhead and ferry to Ireland. I wanted to do something between ( D is keen to get to Dublin) however Janis has inspired me to not miss the Cotswolds and there is so many helpful hints i can use. Think I will hire a car now, at least the side of the road to drive on is the same for me. I will follow yr tips, thanks very much. I can't understand those ladies that decided against seeing something because it didn't seem worth it?? If you're there make the most of it I say. Esp want to see the Doocote! and Minster Lovell, so at the next bookclub just tell them you've made an impression on like minded travellers in Australia. Off to look at the pics now... would love a G and T to go with it.

thanks everyone!
It is still fiddly - but getting better. I'm definitely not tackling the Chelsea Flower show pix until I study up on the tutorial a bit more . . .
here is another small set of Warwick (plus one photo of Chipping Norton).

Janis, if you're not a saint, you certaily have the patience of one! As yk said, that would have been the trip from hell for me. You deserve a tremendous amount of credit for persevering to the end and writing such an entertaining report!
I'm so glad I got back to this. I enjoyed it immensely! And teared up when you were describing the emotional reaction of one of the women.
Don't have time to look at your photos just now but I'll certainly be back!

Janis, your report has been tremendously entertaining but I'm left wondering if the one who promised to coordinate with the ORD ladies ever explained what happened? Did she drop the ball or did they space out?
<i>"The 6 of us had a couple of conference calls leading up to the trip but when I suggested I'd call the ORD ladies to explain our plan - the sister said - "no problem, I'm calling tonight anyway. I'll take care of it." Big mistake"</i>
And I apologize if I missed that tidbit if already discussed -- 250 posts is a lot to review! Thankyou--

29FEB: Not entirely sure -- I <i>think</i> it was a case of spacing out, since the sister was as surprised as I was that they exited arrivals.
CAPH52: Thanks - here are a few more just of various flowers at Chelsea. I can't edit or download any more since I've used up my flickr band width for this month and I'm too cheap to upgrade from the free version.
But I have lots more shots of London/Chelsea and our week in the Cotswolds, so I may have to fork over for the upgrade . . .

Love your photos. You really summed it up when you said the hardest part was they never really left the States. I have traveled with people who suffered from the same malady and it really is a shame. To just scratch the surface of a country by driving through and gazing out the car window and proclaiming nothing's here worth getting out and looking at is just so astonishing to me. You did an amazing job planning this trip. They really have no idea how lucky they were. They were too busy asking for separate checks....

Thanks for topping this, Pal, as I missed it the first time around! I will never again take such a large group - I took 6 people in 2008 to Scotland. From now on, just a couple friends, OR my husband, OR my parents. Never all at once!

janis - since you plan months in advance, where will you, and perhaps the gals, be going next.
hats off to anyone planning or doing most of planning for a group of more than two! Like GreenDragon points out can be a daunting thing.
Cheers
