6 Nights in Amalfi Coast?
Hello,
During my honeymoon in May my fiancee and I are going to spend 6 nights in the Amalfi Coast. Can anyone suggest the best way to break the nights up? (But we don't want to overdue it.) We were thinking....2 nights Capri, 2 nights Amalfi, 2 nights Positano or Ravello. How does this sound...any travel experts of the area have advice? Thanks for your help!!!

How about 2 on Capri, 2 in Positano, and 2 in Ravello for three competely different experiences. I could spend an hour or two in Amalfi, but I think you will enjoy the others more. Besides, you can stop in Amalfi for a look around on your way to
Ravello. It sound like a great honeymoon. I suggest booking very soon.

Hi Janesc - I'd choose 2 bases rather than 3 if I were you.
It hardly seems worth the hassle moving from Positano to Ravello - they're only an hour apart. You can easily day-trip to Ravello/Amalfi from Positano.
I'd recommend 4 nights in Positano and 2 in Capri.
Hope this helps ...
Steve

I agree that moving is a hassle and daya trips from Positano are so very easy on bus service to Ravello and Sorrento or boat to Capri. Positano was lovely, and you can walk everywhere or take the 1 euro bus that circles the town.
We stayed at the Best Western Positano and were delighted with the rooms, the views and our lovely terrace at bargain rates for the area.

Thanks so much for your help and replies!!! We will now go with staying in 2 places for 6 nights (with day trips.) My question now is....Do you think we should spend two nights in Capri or just visit Capri during a day trip???

Congrats on your upcoming nuptials! We spent 6 nights in Sorrento in October - and loved that area. We choose to stay in the same place as packing, repacking, checking-in, checking-out, transporting luggage is a grind to me. That said, I'd experience Capri on an overnight adventure as we went on a day-trip there. While it was a beautiful, stunningly so island, the day-trip was a disappoint. Happy planning...

I agree with Steve--both times.
Go to www.onelittleworld.com and find their trip to Campania--you will enjoy it.

We stayed at the Hotel Poseidon in October. I would stay there again. It is a great location and you can walk to town. The rooms were wonderful and the staff were very helpful. We stayed 5 nights on positano and took day trips to Ravello by ferry to Amalfi and then a cab, and to Capri by ferry. Capri is beautiful. Congratulations and have a great honeymoon.

We went to Amalfi Coast for our honeymoon in june 04'.
It was fantastic, unforgettable and so romantic !!!
We stayed 2 nights on Capri at La Minerva. Staying overnight on Capri is a MUST! It is so glam. I would also recommend (if you are a bit adventurous) to rent a moped while on Capri. We had a great time doing this!
Then we spent 5 nights in Positano with daytrips to Amalfi, Ravello, and Pompeii.
We stayed at the Albergo Miramare. The hotel was very nice, with a good view. The best part was the free boatride included in the price of our room. I just wrote about it in another thread...

On Capri with your budget, I would suggest one of: Mamela, Luna or Punta Tragara. All beautiful. All with spectacular views.
If you really want an experience, try lunch at the pool of the Hotel Scalinatella!! The don't serve non-guests, but try begging and pleading. It's expensive, but it's your honeymoon.
