marym - Cascais is about 30 - 45 minutes away by train from Lisbon - the trains run frequently along the coast and they are cheap. It will be a different experience from staying in Lisbon, but IMO a better one. There are plenty of restaurants also a pleasant beach area as well as the pool at the hotel. It is about a 10 -15 minute walk to the train station from the hotel or a short cab ride. I can't say enough about how lovely we thought the hotel was - the staff was great, the morning breakfast was plentiful, the pool area just gorgeous, the rooms and bathrooms very large - here in the U.S a hotel of this caliber would have easily cost $300 -$400 a night.
