4-days driving initerary in Spain
Hi all,
My wife and me are planning to visit Spain in the next month. We plan to stay 2 nights in Madrid, then rent a car and spend the next 4 days on the road, with Barcelona being the final destination. Our travel agent suggested to go through northern Spain, she said that the vews are beautiful.
What are you suggesting ? Thanks in advance.

maybe because there is alot of info here already.
...so, once a search has been done, ( for example the northern part that has already been suggested,) a request for another option..( after looking at a map and defining what you LIKE to do on vacation) ...mountains..wineries.. wildlife..?? rafting..bird watching.gourmet food?..then it is much easier for people to respond.
spain is not like PARIS. or BARCELONA.
the question is a bit more vague.

Well, I'm sorry if my question wasn't well defined - I'm not frequent to these boards and English is not my native language.
Since I don't know almost anything about Spain and places I want to visit - I wanted an opinion and suggestion from more experienced people. My (almost) only interest is sightseeing - photography is my passion, so beautiful places (both nature and architecture) are a must. Also, since we will be traveling by car, large cities are not likely option - it's much easier to get by in smaller places than in big busy cities.
Guess I have to buy a nice book on Spain ...

you will be able to get loads of info here. try the search box and all sorts of posts will come up with photos, etc. of northern spain.
there will be more info than you can handle, and many driving routes have already been established.
see www.maribelsguides.com.
she does wonderful guides for all of spain.
after reading others' reports of the area you want to go to, i think you will be very pleased with the info you have gathered.
i think the north is fabulous,.. and you will defintely be happy with a trip based from there and work towards barcelona.
santillana del mar, san sebastian, bilbao and more inland towards barcelona: sos de los reyes catolicos
i, personally haven't been to the picos de europa yet, but it seems like a good option for even more scenic opportunites on your way east.
also look up world heritage sites.. the unesco website for special places.
www.toprural.com for country stays.
www.rusticae.com (upscale country places)
www.gtahotels.com
www.solmelia.com
