4 day trip- need suggestions please!

Hello,
I am looking for ideas for our 1 year anniversary trip in mid- February. We live in Florida, so we don't need a warm weather location. Our budget would be around $2000-$3000 but time is limited; we have approximately 4-5 days including travel time.We recently visited London and Paris and would love to visit a different place in Europe. Any suggestions in Europe or elsewhere? Also, is it worth it to travel to Europe for 4-5 days?
Thanks in advance!

Berlin. Chicago. Carmel. Santa Fe/Albuquerque. Aspen. Lisbon or Barcelona.

Best wishes,

Rex

Hi G,

> is it worth it to travel to Europe for 4-5 days?<

For some, yes.

You will lose 2 of your days getting to/from.

You could do 3 days in Venice, Prague or Vienna.

I have taken e-savers to Paris, Amsterdam & Munich & felt they were all well worth it. Depending on where you are departing from, I would want direct flights if traveling to Europe. Amsterdam & Paris are both good choices as is Prague. Otherwise, I would opt for the SW, either the Sedona area or the Santa Fe/Taos areas.

My husband and I did a short (5 day) trip to Amsterdam in February. We had a wonderful time and felt we had just enough time to enjoy the things we wanted to do.

I think a lot depends upon from where in Fla. you're starting. If you can't fly non-stop, this short a trip can be stressful rather than a vacation. I did a trip like you describe to Nice, France once, but leaving from NY there are non-stop flights. The weather in Nice will be milder than northern Europe and it's a lovely area to explore or just relax.

I agree Venice for a few days is always nice, but if your dates coincide with Mardi Gras, it could be very pricey.

I love Europe but am not sure I'd go there in Feb. given your situation.

Travelocity has a program called dreammaps that gives you an idea of relative air fare cost from your home airport. Go to
travelocity.com/dreammaps

and give it a try.

You should also know Delta will start non-stop service to many European cities out of Atlanta this spring. You might want to wait for that.

Unless you're originally from NYC, I'd consider doing NYC for this upcoming Feb. trip. Airfare is cheap. Hotel prices are good this time of year and there's plenty to see and do with no time change. San Francisco would be another nice idea.
