30th Birthday celebrations
Hi Guys,
I am celebrating my 30th birthday the second weekend in September and need some help please..
There are 5 girls coming with me for 3 nights to somewhere hot in europe for birthday celebrations,
we dont want to spend lots of money on flights and accommodation but we want sun, sea, sand and lots of cocktails, has anyone got any suggestions where we could go???
Also do you think it would be better for us to book last min or to book now (ish)
your feedback would be greatly appreciated as we are stuck on where to go!!
Thank you
Amy x

I assume you mean hot as in weather not hot as in chic?
I would not go to Malta as there are few sand beaches (most of the beaches are gravel) and the ones I saw didn't have any cocktails near by. Also the food on Malta isn't great in case you were planning to surface from your drinks to get some food.
If airfare is a factor in where you go then I would look at flight prices now. Usually the earlier you book the cheaper the tickets. You can also check one of the low-cost airlines that fly within Europe such as Easyjet or Ryan Air. There's lots of info on this board about them if you search. I think Easyjet leaves from Stansted rather than from Heathrow or Gatwick so that may also be a factor in your decision.
It's also better to book rooms in advance if you're on a budget.

I would do Cannes, Ibiza, or the Algarve (Portugal). All have fabulous beaches and great nightlife. Last time I was in Cannes, we stayed at Hotel 3.14...very chic and quite reasonable given the location:

Thank you so much for your replies..
I found a place in Portugal, booked the hotel today - fantastic price for a three bedroom villa, flights are only £136.00 inc taxes flying from Gatwick - booking them at the end of the month....
I didn't even think of Cannes - that would have been fantastic!!!
might have a little look and see what i am missing out on!!!
Thanks again for your help..
