3 days in Lisbon - What to do?

I am heading to Lisbon for three days with a friend. I have never been and would like some recommendations on what to do and see. I don’t want to overdue it with sight-seeing, and would rather see the "standouts". Any thoughts and input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

We are also going to Lisbon for the first time in September, for 4 days. We found the site www.golisbon.com extremely informative and exhaustive, on what to do in Lisbon. In fact one of the best travel sites I have ever encountered. Just go through that site, and I think you will have all your questions answered.

I wasn't aware of www.golisbon.com but I took a look at it and it's got some really good stuff.

Don't take a Tour Bus: they just park at Jeronimos Monastery and you see everything on foot from there.

Back in '98 I did a photo essay (never published) on Metro Lisboa. It's User friendly: Each line has a theme and it's like an underground Museum.

Beautiful report Pédraig. You are my hero too
I felt in love with Dublin's fair city a long ago. I was there twice. I wish one day I'm able to return.
PS: Thank God you indicated your name's pronunciation, because I wouldn't ever find it for myself

I tried to use Padraig's link but couldn't bring up the trip report. I will be going to Lisbon this fall and would love to read it. Any hints on the path would help.

For some reason the software on this site does not like the tilde (this thing: ~) as part of an url.

To get to my site you need ALL of: www.iol.ie/~draoi

You can copy and paste it, or you can type it in the address bar of your browser.
