Thanks everyone. After further research, just decided to stay wig Hotel Attalos. Very tempting to do an apartment so we could have 2 bedrooms, but at some point I have to stop researching. As Luv2travel said, we will only be sleeping in the room ; )

I used to drive myself crazy trying to find the right hotel. Now I research, narrow down what fits our budget, etc. and book it! It all works out fine. Glad you are doing the same. You will love Athens and the neighborhood you will be staying in. Go up to that rooftop and have a few drinks and enjoy the spectacular scenery.

Please post when you return so we know how everything went, will also let us know how Attalos rooms are for size, etc.

Let us know how it turns out. If you don't mind camping outdoors in a tent (which I like) then even a super-cramped room seems plenty large. I've yet to meet a room that is smaller or has less optimal loo than camping provides! It's all a matter of perspective.
