I will be flying from Cairo arriving about noon at Heathrow and then flying home to US at 1:00 pm the next day. I would like to spend the afternoon/night in someplace besides central London, as I have been to London a few time before. Does anyone have any idea, including destination and transportation. I really don't want to stay at a Heathrow Hotel for the 24 hours. Thanks

windsor is lovely town 15 min. by taxi from heathrow. we enjoyed it but did not overnight there.

Windsor is fairly near heathrow & should be easy to get to by taxi.

There is a frequent bus service to oxford which only takes about 80 minutes

On no -- not "tired" of London. After Cairo, just want to overnight in a smaller town. Windsor seems like a good option, but open to any small town or village. Thanks.
