Galelstorm,
I am sorry to hear about your lab. Pets really are amazing and hold special places in our hearts.
Eagerly awaiting to hear the rest of your trip. I see you also got bad service at da baffeto as well. Can't wait to see what your experience was like!

LowCountryIslander - Being that close to the Frigidarium would be disastrous to my waistline!
Hanabilly - I know you are enjoying Roma so be sure to eat plenty of gelato for all of us too!
YOu are indeed lucky to have good friends to watch you pup Max. It helps settle your mind when you know they are being loved and cared for.
TDudette - Thanks for your comment. Pets are such wonderful companions. I look forward to having another one but Riley will always have a very special place in my heart.
rbnwdlr - Oh I am so sorry to hear about your springer, Molly. The same was true for Riley, he was fine until that night when he suddenly became weak. Yes, the grieving process is so hard, isn't it? It has to do with that great unconditional love they have for you, and you for them.
JenV - Yes it rained at least one day in each place we stayed but I didn't let it get me down because I was in ITALY!
bouradly - Thanks so much for your kindness. Pets are pretty special and Riley was no exception.
I'm trying to get to the rest slowly but surely, and Da Bafeto had probably the rudest waiter I've ever encountered!
