Well, Padraig, you've made up your mind so there's not much point in discussion, but I do think pro cycling has changed because of pressure from the public, the media and the sponsors.

Why will many give Lance a complete pass when a lot of evidence says otherwise - to say for sure he did not use illegal performance enhancing stuff is so naive - i do have a Bridge to Nowhere to sell you!

I'm not saying he did though i would wager a lot of money that he did but i see no objective person giving him a complete pass.

Or i guess Frankie Andreau, once Lance's good buddy, and Greg LeMond and many many others in the know are bald-face liars - i do not think so.

PalenQ, I don't get it. In your OP you say Lance is just what the Tour needs. In your last post you say you'd wager a lot of money he used drugs. Why would you want him back in the Tour?

As for me, I'll give him what you call a "pass" until he fails a drug test, something that hasn't yet happened after hundreds of tests over almost 10 years.

The current Astana team (riders, management,. ownership) is completely different than the team that had doping problems. They bear the same relationship as the Baltimore Ravens have with the former Baltimore (now Indianapolis) Colts - NONE.

And now Floyd Landis, according to NYTimes today, is also planning on trying to enter the 2009 Tour de France. Could he and Lance battle for the Maillot Jaune?
