Congratulations to Floyd Landis! Tour de France 2006 winner
What a great race.....
I could only kick myself for not betting on the man back in February in the Bellagio Sportsbook...(if my memory is correct, he was ~1000:1)
I could have been very rich today!
Congrats!!!

The Mennonite Menace is the 5th American to wear the crown. His story is amazing, too. Plus, he has a reputation of being a really nice guy.

Well then, double congrats! I didn't know he was a fellow Dutchie--although too bad he isn't a Moravian Menace instead of MennoniteMenace ;-)
An article from the Lehigh Valley's Morning Call, written yesterday (before he'd won the race)

Simply a terrific, inspiring win for Landis. And, as if that cake needed icing, I just saw that Tiger Woods has won the British Open, the first golfer in over 20 years to win back-to-back.
After America's abysmal showing in the World Cup, this is welcome news for our sports fans.

LLindaC---I think that might have been 5 yellow jerseys worn by Americans at some point during the race, but only three at the finale in Paris.
Next year the Tour will start in London--one day of prologue around the streets of London, then Stage 1 goes from London to Canterbury. We might be there then. . . very exciting.
